Blog Talk Radio

When I started the TSW VIP program the idea was to give you guys some downloadable content, some priority release content (TSW Feature Comms) and a look at what we are doing here at Talk Star Wars. Well this week we have a huge piece of news to share with you, and as VIPs you will be the only people hearing this.

So a couple of weeks ago I got an email, out of the blue, from a lady named Amy Domestico. Amy is a talent executive at Blog Talk Radio. Read an extract from that email below:

My name is Amy Domestico, Talent Executive at BlogTalkRadio. I work for Jay Soderberg, better known as PodVader (@TheRealPodVader on Twitter) - the man responsible for the ESPN podcast network. We were listening to the latest episode of your podcast and really enjoyed it. Jay really wanted to talk to you about your show. Do you have time next week?

So Amy set up a meeting with Jay aka The Real Pod Vader, and Jay and I finally got to sit down (via Skype) last week and discuss Talk Star Wars. He was very complimentary about the show, said the had been looking for a Star Wars podcast since joining BTR, and felt that we would be a great fit. He'd been listening to an episode right before we recorded and I thought that was kind of cool.

The long and the short of it is that Jay and Blog Talk Radio want to syndicate Talk Star Wars. What that means is that we will benefit from the resources BTR have at their disposal, and Talk Star Wars should find a bigger audience. Whats more, our partner podcasts at TumblingSaber and Generation X-Wing will also be welcome and we will have the option to establish a Network page for the Star Wars Commonwealth on Blog Talk Radio's platform.

I really cant see a downside to moving forward here, In fact, I think if nothing else, it will help us grow our little community here at Talk Star Wars, and thats why I'm writing to you now.

Talk Star Wars isn't just a blog started by a geek, or a podcast hosted by four middle aged man children. It's a community built around a shared passion for Star Wars, and you fine people, our VIPs, our patrons, have become the very foundation of this entire thing. So I want you guys to know whats going on as it happens, and I welcome your feedback, advice and concerns. If you have anything you think I should consider before making the decision to take Talk Star Wars to Blog Talk Radio, just email me.

As always, thank you for your continued support, your questions and comments, your retweets and GIFs. This community has become an incredibly rewarding thing to be a part of, and I look forward to watching it grow...
