In a special volume of the talk star wars toys series we look at one of the best places to get your collecting fix. As you will see from the list below the price of unusual and rare figures has escalated in the last couple of years, most likely due to the new movies and the resurgence of interest in the vintage line. It is said a certain footballer is buying the higher end items which can only drive prices up. But you can also buy a beater to go with the rocket firing Fetts. Vectis has it all.

Star Wars original acetate Transparency (1977) (14" x 11"/36cm x 28cm), used in the production of the original Tom Chantrell Poster. As there has been no sight of the original artwork since 1977, this may be the last remaining (and certainly the only available) record of the original design. This comes with an archive digital media record for preservation purposes and a pair of prints 35" x 44.5" and 17.25" x 21"; produced solely to illustrate the superb quality of colour and definition. This features on the official Tom Chantrell website - as donated by David Smith, vendor. (3) NB. This acetate transparency was sold by Wellers Auctioneers on May 12th, 2012, Lot 636 - originally the property of a retired 20th Century Fox employee - this alongside other items had been stored in his attic for more than 30 years.

Aside from the highest achievers one of the most interesting values has got to be this lot a Star Wars carrier bag for £240!!
All valuations are based on several factors –
1.The condition of the item (very high factor)
3.Prices we had had for the same or very similar pieces (which are relevant) and by that I mean recently some toys (not SW at present) prices can fluctuate immensely.
4.Market prices (what other auction houses have achieved)
5.Market in general for that genre
6.Is it original with original packaging or card? (bubble or bag)
14 specialists plus a few people who are used on a consultant basis are valuers. Not all on the current website (this is in the process of being updated and should be released by the Spring).
They have the largest number of specialists in toys than any other Auction House covering all genres (tinplate, trains, matchbox, hot wheels, Barbie, Sindy, teddy's, not just Star Wars).
