Kathleen Kennedy has debunked two huge and divisive Rogue One rumours. One of those relates to the potential cameo by the recently cast Alden Ehrenreich's young Han Solo and the other is the potential cameo by Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Read on for more....
Below is a video of Kathleen Kenned addressing both of these rumours when se spoke with Extra TV:
So there you go. We can put those two rumours to bed once and for all. I find it quite refreshing that an official would come out and make such a bold statement about two rumours that, even though they are provocative, are fuelling the conversation about an upcoming movie. It seems to be free press. I guess it could be that both of these particular points provoke some negative chatter. We have covered the Han Solo cameo on the podcast and we really didn't want to see it happen. It simply doesn't make sense. The Hayden cameo on the other hand, is something I have personally wanted. I think Hayden is a great actor and far from the weakest point in the prequels. He was simply working with material provided and taking direction form Uncle George. A cameo from Hayden would have given the film makers a chance to look under that fright mask of Vader's and check in with what's left of Anakin's soul.
You never know, perhaps we will get a look at Darth Vader in a future Star Wars movie and maybe Hayden could be brought in then.
How do you feel about these two debunked rumours? And what can be red into Kathleen's other comment about the hand off to A New Hope by Rogue One? Leave you thoughts in the comments below....
