There are rumours of several cameos in Rogue One: A Star Wars Stor, which range from the sublime too the ridiculous. Let's discuss...
We will start with the ridiculous.
For a long time now Han Solo has been linked to Rogue One. Recently talk has turned to the possibility of Han Solo popping up in a small cameo role in the movie, which makes little sense for more than one reason. Firstly, Han Solo was in Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope and claimed to have no knowledge of the Death Star. This suggests that if he does turn up in Rogue One: A Star Wars Stor, then he probably isn't going to be to close to the action. Sure there is a chance that Solo was telling a little white lie about no knowing of the space station, but I think, because Solo is a survivor, that perhaps he'd have used hips knowledge of the death Start to avoid a run in with it. Plus I suspect a braggart like Han would want you to know when he knows something you don't know.
MakingStarWars.net have speculated that the Han Solo who might appear in Rogue One: A Star Wars Stor will be a BoShek type character. For the initiated that is a reference to the gut with the pompadour quaff in Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope who directs Obi-Wan toward Chewbacca, when the old Jedi enquirers about a transport. If this is the sort of blink and you'll miss it cameo we can expect then why bother waiting for the new, younger Han Solo to be cast? A young Han Solo will look far too different from the Harrison Ford "Solo" in A New Hope, and considering Rogue One: A Star Wars Stor is set just before the 1977 original that just wouldn't make sense. No they be better off recreating Harrison Ford's Han Solo digitally, like the rumoured Peter Cushing, and have him do his BoShek bit. That sounds a little too involved and costly to be real. No, I doubt there will be a by Han Solo action in this film.
The other option mentioned by MakingStarWars.net is the prospect of Bounty Hunters, and lots of them. MSW even go so far as to suggest that many of the core group of heroes in this film (including Donnie Yen) are in fact Bointy Hunters hired by the Rebels to secure the plans. There is also a suggestion that we might see IG-88, Dengar, 4-LOM, Zuckus and Boba Fett in some for, perhaps in Janbbas Palace as the Rebels try to hire a team. The theory suggest that the Bounty Hunters chosen for this job, will not include the A level bad guys we see onboard Vader's Executor in Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.
Could this be true? Are we going to see bigger, better and badder Bointy Hunters in Rogue One? Will we learn the origin of Vader's overs ion to disintegrating prey? Not long until we find out now.
