When we last left Dr Aphra and her crew, they were fleeing Imperial forces on Yavin 4. With the empire hot on their heals they reach the planet where the citadel of the Ordu Aspectu, but soon realize that this place is an ancient Jedi order.
This time writer Kieron Gillen sprinkles a few twists and a ton of interesting dialogue to keep the pages turning. With their lives in jeopardy, the doctor and her father have a very compelling chat about her mother, her past and their current relationship. Triple Zero & Beetee continue their casual killings and their Wookie friend Black Krrsantan seems to be only looking out for himself. The art by Kev Walker strikes the right chords in almost every panel. The balance of his tones from scene to scene transitions the reader through the book seamlessly.
Having this series is continuing to be a real treat. We get a steady diet of humour, new saga canon, great characters and countless easter eggs for the most avid Star Wars fan. This issue may not be the best one yet, but it is still a solid read. Again, highly recommend!
