Two characters who were absent from almost all publicity material ahead of the release of The Force Awakens, are now getting some attention in the press. Max Kanata, seen only on the one sheet poster, and Supreme Leader Snoke, who wasn't seen until the final release, have images over on EW. Check them out below...
We only got to see the characters in action in the final version of the movie released in cinemas in December. Prior to that we saw the performers bringing them to life in mo-cap suits and head gear. But now we get a couple of high resolution screen grabs from the feature courtesy of EW.
Along with these images, EW ran some interesting quotes by the actors. Here's what Lupita Nyong'o had to say about Maz Kanata's eyes:
Mo-cap specialist, and wonderful character actor, Andy Serkis had a comment about the design of Snoke and how it may have been evolving during the shoot:
Anthony Breznican, who's coverage of The Force Awakens for EW was second to none, made a comment about Snoke, that I'm not quite ready to accept:
I still think having Snoke revealed as Plaguei is a great opportunity to tie the series together. I don't agree with those who say doing so diminishes Palpatine as a character, or reduces the sacrifice made by Anakin. Snoke's loitering on the sidelines during the events of the original trilogy speaks volumes about the characters cowardly ways, and if he is to be pulling Ben Solo's strings from the shadows throughout this trilogy, I'd say he is pretty much a coward.
What do you make of these images? Did you like the characters of Maz and Snoke? What's your position on Snoke is Plagueis? Have you say in the comments below.
