The Force Awakens has gotten the traditional congratulatory poster from the creators of Jurassic World...
In a traditional classy act that goes back decades, Jurassic World executive producers Steven Speilberg, Frank Marshall and director Colin Trevorrow. Steven Speilberg and George Lucas started these exchanges years ago, taking out full page advertisements in the trades congratulating eachother on the success of various projects. We the art below.
The congratulations come in the wake of The Force Awakens smashing Jurassic World's box office takings and securing the highest opening weekend box office. Steven Speilberg has already gone on record celebrating The Force Awakens as a wonderful movie, an endorsement he alone gave the original Star Wars movie back in 1977. Kathleen Kennedy's husband Frank Marshall is the "Frank" quoted on the poster, who just last week at the premiere had to remind his good lady wife that this is friendly competition. Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World director and future yeller of "action" on Star Wars Episode IX, is also listed among those celebrating The Force Awakens' success. It's lovely to see this sort of solidarity, even when all parties are closely related.
