Wall Street Journal writer, Ben Fritz interview Disney CEO Bob Iger, and got some interesting tidbits on the Han Solo movie, currently in production in UK...
According to MakingStarWars.net, Bob Iger told Ben Fritz that, the Han Solo movie would take place over a six year period, following Han from the ages of 18 to 24. That the film will show Han finding the Millennium Falcon, meeting Chewbacca and getting his name. Lets speculate wildly about this things after the embedded tweet -
Han Solo movie will follow him from age 18 through 24 and show him finding the Falcon, meeting Chewbacca, and getting his name, Iger says— Ben Fritz (@benfritz) March 23, 2017
When I first heard about Han gong from 18 to 24 in the space of one movie I balked. I couldn't imagine a film being able to tell a story cross such a long time frame. Then I realised that Rogue One had done that and more. The Rogue One cold open was set when Jyn was a small child, with the main body of the movie taking place with her as a young woman. So my guess would be that we will meet Han as an 18 year old in the opening moments of the Han Solo movie, and quickly jump to the smuggler at 24, with the Falcon and maybe even his friendship with Chewy all set up in the cold open.
If that is the case, will Han "find" (interesting choice of words) The Falcon in the cold open as he saves Chewbacca? Thats assuming their relationship's canon origin will follow the legends version. Personally I would like that.
How about the getting his name part of the tweet? Could Mr. Iger have meant Han earning his reputation? Maybe that price on his head? Or does the Han Solo we know and love have a big secret? Could Solo be an assumed name? Could the identity change be an attempt to leave a life behind? One time will tell.
Let me know that you think about what Bob Iger revealed in the comments below. More can be found at the source link.
