Han Solo A Star Wars Story, the second of the planned Star Wars "Anthology" Movies, has found its directors in the form of The lego movie's Christopher Miller and Phil Miller...
The announcement was made in July on StarWars.com and included a quote from the directors that should assuage any concerns that these are the write guys for the job. Read that below:
The two director enjoyed enormous success with The Lego Movie and have gone on to create one of my favourite shows on TV at the moment, Last Man On Earth with Will Forte.
Lord and Miller will work from a script by legendary Star Wars contributor Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan. The writers also made a statement at the time:
When rumours started that a Han Solo movie was in the works I was really less than impressed. I would rather see original characters created to carry on tell stories set in the Star Wars universe, but now these four gentlemen are attached my position is changing. If done carefully there could be a funny adventure movie, in the style of Indiana Jones, another of Kasdan's masterpieces. Now the hunt begins for an actor who can pull off one of the most popular characters were committed to film.
There is a young actor named Anthony Ingruber, who recently played a young version of Harrison Ford's character in Age Of Adeline, and his name has been attached to the Han Solo role since the film was first announced.
Anthony's videos of his impersonations of Harrison Ford started to draw a lot of attention and that lead to his being cast in Age Of Adeline. Whether or not he has the chops to carry one of the biggest movies of all time, and lets be honest, a movie set in the Star Wars universe that focuses on one of the most popular characters in the film series is going to be own e of the biggest films of all time, is yet to be seen. I'm pulling for the guy though, he is the right age, has the right looks and can certainly channel the smugglers charm. Check out the video below.
I imagine things will remain quiet on the Han Solo movie side of things for a little while. With Rogue One in production, The Force Awakens about to drop and Episode VIII gearing up, there is a risk that the Han Solo movie could get lost in the mix. Rest assured anything that does pop up will be posted here as soon as possible.
