An image of the (soon to be be) legendary cast of Han Solo: A Star Wars Story[?] hit StarWars.com yesterday and got juices flowing around the world. See below for more...
Three times in the post the film was referenced as Star Wars Story in one way or another. It also seems to confirm the May 25th 2018 release date. The first time that date has been referenced in an official capacity for some time.
The image features Woody Harrelson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover and Joonas Suaotomo (as the mighty Chewbacca) alongside directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Thandie Newton was also confirmed in the post, but missed the bridge shoot.
The image is somewhat reminiscent of the Annie Leibovitz Falcon cockpit shot from The Force Awakens.
Its interesting that as recently as last week Miss Waller-Bridge was denying being a part of the project. I think she has passed the Star Wars secrecy test. Personally I'm hoping to see Peter Mayhew's name attached here somewhere, even if only as a consultant, similar to the way the late Kenny Baker was credited in The Force Awakens. I enjoyed what Joonas Suaotomo brought to Chewy in The Force Awakens, but I'd just like to see Peter involved in some small way.
The post also announced the crew members Neal Scanlan (Creature & Droid FX Creative Supervisor), Neil Lamont (Production Designer), Dave Crossman and Glyn Dillon (Co-Costume Designers), Jamie Wilkinson (Prop Master), Lisa Tomblin (Hair), Amanda Knight (Make-Up) and Nina Gold (UK Casting Director).
Will the movie be a Star Wars Story, or will it get another title? How much of the Empire and the Rebellion can we expect to see? Just who are Woody and Emilia playing? We will know for sure in little over a year.
