The production company Foodles Production (UK) Ltd has admitted safety breaches which lead to Harrison Ford's injury on the Star Wars The Force Awakens set....
Harrison Ford was knocked down with the "force of a small car" according the the HSE (Health and Safety Executive). Harrison believed the set was not live and so hit the button to close the door during rehearsals on Stage M, the set for the Millennium Falcon at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire.
Andrew Marshall, the prosecuting attorney in the case said
Harrison was left with a broken leg and the production was placed on hiatus whilst the actor healed. Interestingly enough, J.J. Abrams and writer Lawrence Kasdan used the down time to refine the script and the resulting film became something different as a result.
Angus Withington, the defence for Foodles Production (UK) Ltd stated that whilst the company admitted the offences it would contest the level of risk involved.
A Foodles spokesperson said the company had:
Foodles Production (UK) Ltd will be sentenced on 22nd August this year.
