MakingStarWars.net have a post they say reveals a little about Finn's return to action in Star Wars Episode VIII. Read on for more....
The report suggest that Finn will start episode VIII in a bubble suit, or more accurately a Bacta suit which will be cut away to reveal that Finn has recovered from the injuries his sustained at the hands of Kylo Ren in the closing moments of The Force Awakens.
Now we heard, way back after the release of The Force Awakens that the roles of Finn, Rey and Poe were likely getting a bump in the script for VIII because the characters and the actors that brought them to life were such a resounding success with audiences. Is this an effort to speed Finn back into action? We wouldn't want to see Finn sat on the sidelines healing for an entire movie, but does this "magic healing suit" approach diminish the sacrifice Finn made in The Force Awakens? Does it lower the stakes knowing that the heroes aren't more than a bubble suit away from full health?
I guess its not really that different from Luke having a new hand attached in Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back or Han defrosting nicely in Star Wars Episode VI The Return Of The Jedi.
Let me know what you think in the comments below. Is the Bacta suit a cheat to Finn back into action? Does this tech keep our heroes from ever really being at risk? Os this just a part of Star Wars story telling and I'm reading too much into it?
Thank you for reading,
