Daisy Ridley has commented on the rumor that she is attached to the reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise...
Daisy spoke to Empire's Chris Hewitt at the Jameson Empire awards at the weekend where she took home an award for best female newcomer. During the chat Daisy confirmed that there had been talks about her stepping into the role of Lara Craft in the new Tomb Raider movie.
The Star Wars The Force Awakens star commented that just because she has had early conversations it doesn't mean that she will be doing the movie, and that she doesn't believe there is a script at this early stage.
Daist went on to say that she is aware that the idea of her taking the Lara Croft role has been welcomed by fans and that she was initially quiet on the subject because she hadn't been told she could comment.
I have speculated previously that Daisy's casting as Lara Croft could be the equivalent of Harrison Ford landing the role of Inadiana Jones and it may very well mark the start of a very exciting career for her. It looks to me as though this will happen. Even though there is no script yet, chances are there will be an announcement very soon that Tomb Raider is green lit and that Daisy Ridley will be the star. Watch this space.
