Ok let me bury the lead and say I do not believe that the person seen on set is Diego Luna. In fact when I saw the images I chuckled aloud, but it is in an interesting idea: Could Diego Lune reprise the role of Cassian Andor in the Han Solo movie...
Diego has stimulated rumours about Cassian's possible return to Star Wars by evading the questions posed to him on the red carpet for Rogue One. The actor said he couldn't comment on whether his character might return when asked, which is a lot more compelling that a simple no.
Alden Ehrenreich on set in costume as the smuggler...
When we consider the time frame it would be very possible for Cassian and Han to cross paths. At the time of the Han Solo movie, Cassian would have been working within a Rebellion Cell as intelligence. The timeline seems to suggest that the Alliance would not quite be fully formed at the time of the Han Solo movie, so perhaps Cassian's "Cell" require fast pilots for freelance missions/smuggling?
I will be completely honest here: I would be happier if the Han Solo movie just focused on Han and setting up that character to be the man we meet in Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope. I don't need for him to have been connected to the Rebellion ahead of the events of that film, and I don't want Han to be some sort of war hero before we see him step up to the plate in Star Wars. Personally I would prefer to see Han navigate the underworld, trying to keep his head above water without losing his life to another scoundrel in the scrum.
Han's new ride?
Could this be Han's "Bumper car" from the movie?
It would also be great if this movie could be left open to sequels. Think Indian Jones films. How each movie stands alone, but they all form a neat serial of stories about a compelling character. When you consider who is writing this movie, its seems likely that this will be the way this movie, or series of movies goes.
Han Solo is being written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan and is being directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. It hits cinemas next May.
