Carrie Fisher In Intensive Care

Marc Godsiff December 24, 2016

We have all been watching this story very closely since it broke yesterday, but now Carrie Fisher's brother, Todd has made a statement on her current status...

Carrie Fisher, who is only 60, went into cardiac arrest in the final minutes of a flight from London to LA. Fortunately there were medical professionals amongst the passengers, who performed CPR for 15 minutes before the paramedics on the ground could take over. Carrie is now in intensive care. Her brother, Todd made the following statement:

“If everyone could just pray for her that would be good,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “The doctors are doing their thing and we don’t want to bug them. We are waiting by patiently.”
— Todd Fisher

Carrie's friends and fans have been sending out messages of support, with co-stars Mark Hamill and Peter Mayhew tweeting about the news last night. Star Wars fans have adopted the #PrayForCarrie hashtag and placed a General Leia "Hope" avatar on their social network pages as a sign that the welfare of their Princess in foremost in their thoughts.

It goes without saying that each of us here, at Talk Star Wars are wishing Carrie a speedy recovery. Share your thoughts and messages to Carrie in the comments below.

Thank you for reading,

Marc
