Well we went all over the map with our predictions about what would feature at the 40th anniversary panel at Star Wars Celebration Orlando. Would we get a new movie announcement, maybe starring Obi-Wan. Might we hear about a new TV series, or get The Last Jedi trailer a day early. In the end it was the only thing it really ever should have been. A tribute to the maker himself...
When George walked out on stage at Celebration, even though I was watching it on a phone, with one earbud in, in the foodcourt just meters away from the event itself, I was flushed with emotion. To hear George welcomed back so warmly by Star Wars fandom was emotional, hearing the stories of the lives he touched was emotional, and seeing the stars of our beloved franchise say thank you and we love you, was one of the most touching experiences I've had as a Star Wars fan.
Certainly the stories being told here I've heard as many times as I've seen the films, there's no new revelatory mic drop moment, but to hear these legends tell the tales and enjoy them so much is a delight.

You know I'm glad we didn't get the trailer for The Last Jedi yesterday. I glad that this was about George. And not a: "oh he will be directing a new movie" or "he will be refreshing the special editions" (one of my own crack pot theories), no this was a simple heartfelt thank you to the man who gave us this wonderful thing. This thing that has brought all of us together.
So, for what it's worth, from all of us at Talk Star Wars, Mr. Lucas, we love you, and thank you!
Thank you for reading,
