There is some interesting chatter coming from camp Marvel. The chatter takes the form of a certain Captain we thought we might be seeing in Avengers Age Of Ultron!
But before we get to that we need to look at some of the characters already confirmed. The Twins, otherwise known as Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are the subject of a new Avengers Age Of Ultron focused video on YouTube. Check it out below in our Bagged And Boarded playlist.
So what about these rumours that Captain Marvel could be appearing in Avengers Age Of Ultron? It looks like that may not happen after all.
We know that Joss Whedon has said to expect characters in Avengers Age Of Ultron that we haven’t seen so far. The video of him saying this is in the playlist above. Was that statement made before the reveal that Sam Wilson / Falcon would be in Avengers Age Of Ultron? I’m sure we will be seeing someone who is yet to appear in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Possibly Spider-Man?
Cinemablend have an interesting write up on why we won’t be seeing Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel in Avengers Age Of Ultron, you can read that here.
The rumour started, as most do, over on Latino Review, but Nerdist debunked it (apparently, although I suspect that won’t be 100% until Avengers Age Of Ultron is released!) on fridays’s Nerdist News with Jessica Chobot. watch that above.
It certainly seems too early for the character to make her debut seeing as how we are three years away from the release of her standalone movie, so this is probably just fanboy (and girl) bit chomping.
Calm down kids!
Whats the rush?
The Captain Marvel movie isn’t due out until after The Avengers Infinity War part one has been released, so expect the reveal of Captain Marvel to be tacked onto that movie’s credits.
I guess its a good sign that this kind of speculation is out there. It shows just how interest there is in these characters, the universe they inhabit and the stories being told. A sign that Marvel are getting it right. How many people are fan casting the next Transformers of TMNT movies? I just hope the audience has the patience to wait as long as they have to for these films, and that long waits and protracted development doesn’t work against the slate. I know its important to tell us whats coming, but of years out seems like a tease too far.
What do you think? Are you looking forward to the release of the later half of the MCU slate? Do you think being told about these movies so far in advance is a good thing or a bad choice by the creators? And what do you want to see next, beyond these films? Secret Wars? Secret Invasion? Secret Squirrel? Drop it in the comments?
